As summer arrives for most of us the threat of getting sunburnt, or worse, from spending too much time outside is ever-present.
So in an effort to, a French company has released a bikini with an embedded sensor that warns you when you've spent too much time in the sun.
The sensor will send an alert to your phone when it thinks you’ve been out long enough, giving you time to cover up before any lasting effects occur.
Each bikini, which can be custom made according to the buyer’s specifications, costs from €149 (£108, $167).
At the front of the bikini is a small clasp where the thin sensor can be attached.
The sensor is removable and also waterproof, so there are no problems taking it in the sea with you at the beach.
To get started, users need to input their skin type into the accompanying app, which is available for iOS and Android.
During the day, the sensor will then monitor the temperature, and sends a message to the user’s smartphone when it thinks they may be in danger.
